Mark Baumann will host three Zoom sessions to answer questions about his presentation on client counseling and attachment for lawyers at the 7th Annual Conference for the Australian chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). Mark’s topic was centered on danger, protection and comfort. He presented information about general client counseling techniques including Integrative Listening, the Rejection Begets Aggression rule, emotions, and Equipoise. He described danger processing as a generalized term that includes the Polyvagal Theory, information processing, and attachment as neurobiological systems which promote survival over optimal decision making. He also described how adult attachment, from the perspective of the Dynamic Maturational Model of Attachment and Adaptation (DMM), can greatly impact how lawyers can understand and communicate with their clients.
Please bring your questions and problem cases to analyze with Integrative Client Counseling Model techniques.
