On September 7, 2021, we will explore the concepts of information processing and transformation of information, as described by the Dynamic Maturational Model of Attachment and Adaptation (DMM). We’ll start with an easy and informal discussion of examples of transformation of information (TI). We’ll look at six key information processing (IP) concepts, Crittenden’s 4-step information processing model, and the 7 types of information transformation described in the DMM. A basic overview of these concepts, the involvement of memory systems, and some examples are provided in this article about IP and TI.
Please bring your examples of information processing, and also of the various ways people transform information. Sometimes it’s not easy to distinguish between distorted, omitted, falsified, denied, or even delusional transformations.
Information processing is not merely a DMM concept, it is a concept standing on its own. Please share with us your favorite non-DMM oriented articles about these topics.
